For the second time in less than two months, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested PTI Senator Azam Swati early on Sunday for tweets that were strongly worded and targeted senior military officials.

He was recently captured by the FIA in October for a dubious tweet remembered to be against the military.
The senator has maintained that he was allegedly tortured in custody ever since he was granted bail and has demanded the removal of two military officials, one of whom he slammed in his tweet yesterday.
A first data (FIR) report was enrolled by the FIA on the grumbling of the state through Islamabad Digital Wrongdoing Revealing Center (CCRC) Specialized Collaborator Aneesur Rehman.
Sections 131 (abetting mutiny or attempting to seduce a soldier from his duty), 500 (punishment for defamation), 501 (defamation and printing of content deemed to be defamatory), Section 505 (statement conducing to public mischief), and 109 (abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) were used to file the complaint. All of these sections deal with offenses against a person's dignity.
The FIR states that Swati and three additional Twitter accounts—@Wolf1Ak, @HaqeeqatTV_20, and @Azaadi99—started a "highly obnoxious campaign of intimidating tweets [...] against state institutions" and senior government officials, including the incoming army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
It stated that Swati had posted a tweet on November 26 in which he stated that he would target a senior military official at every forum. It continued by stating that Swati replied with a "thank you" after @Azaadi99 shared a tweet on November 19 in which he held generals accountable for the country's destruction.
Also, on November 24, @Wolf1Ak said that "tabdeeli" had to start by getting rid of the "corrupt generals"' filth from the institution. Swati said "thank you" again.

According to the complaint, on November 24, @HaqeeqatTV_20 tweeted a message to those leaving, to which the senator responded with strong language.

According to the FIR, these "intimidating tweets of blaming and naming" were a "mischievous act of subversion to create a rift among personnel of armed forces to harm the state of Pakistan."

The FIR expressed that through the hostile tweets as well as the remarks on inducing tweets, the charged endeavored to entice armed force staff from their devotion from their obligations as subordinates," it was a "determined and rehashed endeavor" by Swati to add that this.

The FIR stated that Swati attempted to "provoke" the general public and members of the armed forces by cultivating "a feeling of ill-will among the pillars of the state," noting that a similar complaint had previously been filed against the senator.

According to the FIR, Swati "violated the privacy and intimated by using false information" that was likely to incite any officer, soldier, sailor, or airman to mutiny or otherwise disregard or fail in his duty. The remarks were also likely to cause "fear or alarm" in the public, according to the FIR.

PTI leader Shireen Mazari posted a video of a statement that Swati made just moments before he was taken into custody. Swati urges senators and lawyers to "come out" against oppression.

Updated: November 27, 2022, 1:58 p.m.: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested PTI Senator Azam Swati early Sunday morning for "highly obnoxious" tweets about senior military officials. This was the second time in less than two months that the FIA had arrested Swati for this offense.

He was previously detained in October by the FIA for a contentious tweet that was believed to be anti-armed forces.

The senator has maintained that he was allegedly tortured in custody ever since he was granted bail and has demanded the removal of two military officials, one of whom he slammed in his tweet yesterday.

On the state's complaint, the FIA filed a first information (FIR) report through Technical Assistant Aneesur Rehman of the Islamabad Cyber Crime Reporting Centre (CCRC).

Further, @Wolf1Ak on Nov 24 expressed that "tabdeeli" needed to start by getting the foulness free from the "bad commanders" from the foundation, to which Swati again answered with "much obliged".

According to the FIR, "the accused attempted to seduce army personnel from their allegiance from their duties as subordinates" through the offensive tweets and comments on instigating tweets, adding that this was a "calculated and repeated attempt" by Swati.

In it, he said a justice had come, he gave him a warrant, which he viewed as deferential. "I went straight home after delivering my speech yesterday.I have never been one to flee.I will not visit KPK.

Swati gave a passionate speech at the PTI power show last night in which he mentioned his alleged torture once more and asked COAS Bajwa a series of pointed questions.

In press conferences and television interviews, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has also decried Swati's "custodial torture."

In the video from today, Swati stated, "This is why we have come out."against oppression and the rule of law."

He claimed that they receive their orders directly from the military establishment and pointed at the officials who were responsible for taking him into custody.

Attorneys and fellow senators were urged to leave their homes by him.He continued, "I am telling all of the country's women that I am fighting your war so that they will never again strip a 74-year-old senator or any Pakistani citizen outside of the law."

Additionally, the senator stated that he was voluntarily surrendering to them because they had issued him a warrant.

He, on the other hand, complained about "torture, getting physical remand and again torture, and on top of that stripping."This is not how anyone should be treated.

In addition, party senators and Swati have staged a series of protest marches in demand of justice outside the Supreme Court.

Imran Ismail, senior party leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Senate Opposition Leader Shahzad Waseem, and others who reached the capital's F-8 area in support of Swati were captured in photographs by the official PTI Twitter account hours later.

Pemra bans Swati’s press conferences, speeches

The Pakistan Electronic Media and Regulatory Authority (Pemra) immediately outlawed the broadcast and rebroadcast of the senator's speeches, press conferences, and media coverage, including appearances as a guest on talk shows, statements, or tickers, on any satellite television channel. The decision was made by the authority in accordance with Section 27(a) of the 2007 Pemra (Amendment) Act.The authority cited Swati's speech at the PTI's long march in Rawalpindi on November 26 in which he "made aspersions against the state institutions by leveling baseless allegations" in the prohibition order.Pemra noted that the speech was broadcast "without any editorial control and effective utilisation of delay mechanism," and that broadcasting such content was a willful disregard for the company's instructions. The notification also included a copy of Swati's speech from last night's transcript.According to the order, "in case of any violation observed, license may be suspended under Section 30(3) of Pemra Ordinance 2002 as amended by Pemra (Amendment) Act 2007 without any showcause notice in the public interest along with other enabling provisions of law" in addition to other enabling provisions of the law.

PTI leaders condemn arrest

“Shocked and appalled at how rapidly we are descending into not just a banana republic but a fascist state,” declared PTI Chairman Imran Khan.“How can anyone not comprehend the agony Senator Swati endured as a result of custodial torture and the blackmailing video that was sent to his family of him and his conservative wife?”He pressed. His justified rage and dissatisfaction with the injustice he has been subjected to, particularly the fact that he has been denied access to the Supreme Court despite senators' appeals for more than two weeks. He then tweets, and he gets arrested once more.Everybody should speak more loudly against this state extremism," Imran said.Asad Umar, secretary general of the PTI, stated that Swati's dignified behavior during his arrest demonstrated that "he is fighting for a principle."He stated, "You can disagree with his words or even his views, but you cannot disagree with him that whatever happens must occur within the ambit of the law."After addressing the party's rally in Rawalpindi last night, "where he asked some questions and spoke about what happened to him and his family," the former human rights minister Mazari stated that Swati was detained once more by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).Is that illegal?Did the pusillanimous Senate administrator again give his endorsement for this capture?"Fascism," she declared.“It appears that the powerful state in Pakistan today enjoys freedom of speech, whether in a press conference, a public address, a press statement, or on social media. This right is denied to the rest, including parliamentarians,” Mazari stated.Fawad Chaudhry, PTI leader, stated:He was taken into custody once more because they are so afraid of Azam Swati's criticism. You would anticipate that people would be afraid if you illegally kidnapped them, tortured them, and recorded videos of their women. However, the problem now transcends fear.Hatred will only result from such tactics.Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa criticized the arrest.[Swati] has been running for justice for several weeks, to loud silence. He stated, "A 74-year-old man is now a symbol of defiance."
