Gyles Branderth's new book has revealed Queen Elizabeth's reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's telling interview with Oprah Winfrey.

According to the author, the Queen thought Harry and Meghan's narrative on Oprah Winfrey was just "TV nonsense".

In a book called "Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait", published by the Mail on Sunday, Brandreth claimed the Queen was more interested in her grandson's welfare than the TV show.

The Daily Express wrote that the book highlights how forgiving and open the monarch was not overwhelmed by the American couple's interview with the American TV legend.

"Despite the clearly damaging nature of the interview and the upcoming release of Harry's telling memoir, a Netflix documentary and Meghan's podcasts, Mr Brandreth's book paints a picture of a Queen who would not be too concerned," the publication wrote.
